ABB Grain

Over the years ABB grain has been upgrading all of the grain silo site’s over South Australia. Lai Industries has built Motor Control Switchboards for many of these sights ranging from small country town silo’s right up to the new silo site at Outer Harbour.
In  2002  Lai Industries was awarded the contract to build new Main Switchboads & Motor Control Centre’s for 52 silo sites across South Australia.

The Motor Control Centre’s built for this project were all of a stainless steel construction & designed with stand off mounting tags to allow for mounting on the side of the silo’s. All these boards were also fitted with PLC’s, Variable speed drives & motor soft starters. These Motor control centre’s were also supplied with a remote control panel monitoring & controlling the plant via a touch screen.
In 2006 Lai Industries was awarded the contract to build the Main switchboard/MCC for the Outer Harbour project. This switchboard was rated at 3000A, was 20m long x 1.8m deep and was fitted with variable speed drives, soft starters, direct on-line starters & a PLC.
